Trucks
Overview
The Trucks form lets you track basic information about your trucks or containers such as a brief description, identifying characteristics, who operates or owns the truck, tare weight, maximum allowed weight, etc.
You get to this form by selecting Maintain | Trucks from the menu or by clicking a lookup icon
on a form field associated with Trucks.
The use of Trucks is optional. The maximum number of Trucks allowed is unlimited.

Common Elements
The Toolbar, ID, Name and Inactive elements function the same for all forms under the Maintain menu. Default values for new records can be defined by editing the Default Record.
Operated By
Operated By typically points to the Customer or Vendor (CV) who owns or operates the truck or container.
Tare Wt.
Tare weight is the last tare weight set for this truck or container. You can keep a history of tare weights for a truck by enabling "Log Tare Activity" under Tools | Options | Event Logs and view the history under Tools | View Logs | Tare History Logs.
A truck can be tared by pressing the Tare button on the toolbar here while viewing the Truck record or during Ticketing with a truck selected. Regardless of where you tare the truck, the new Tare Wt. will appear on both the Truck form and the Ticketing form if they are both open and the Truck ID matches.
Max Wt.
Maximum weight is the maximum weight is typically the maximum legal load limit for the roads or the truck. However, you can use this field to represent any maximum that you want. If the Gross Wt. (total weight of the truck or container plus it's load) exceeds the Maximum Wt. during Ticketing, the Gross Wt. and Maximum Wt. fields will be highlighted to warn the user that the Maximum Wt. has been exceeded.
